Overview
This privacy policy describes what information Transparent 401K, LLC (or “Transparent 401K”) collects in offering and providing the Transparent 401k services. We classify data into three categories, “Contact Information”, “Personal Nonpublic Information” and “Confidential Business Information.”
“Contact Information” refers to data including your name, address, telephone number, and email address. “Personal Nonpublic Information” refers to personally identifiable information about you and transactions in your account. This can include items like your social security number, account numbers, and information about assets, accounts, transactions and tax status. “Confidential Business Information” refers to similarly sensitive information which is owned by any business entity you may be acting on behalf of to consider or to purchase and implement a Transparent 401k or other retirement plan services.
Scope of Policy
Transparent 401K offers the Transparent 401K services together with one or more other 401(k) company partners that serve as Third-Party Administrators and or Record keepers to help administer your 401(k) plan. When Transparent 401K sets up a 401(k) plan, for example, you are subject to our 401(k) partner’s, i.e. Third-Party Administrator or record keeper’s privacy policy which will depend upon the one you select to administer your plan. They may collect your personal nonpublic information and or confidential Business Information.
What Information Do We Collect and How Do We Use It?
To provide 401(k) financial services to you, either we or the Third-Party Administrator may ask you to provide Contact Information, Personal Nonpublic Information, and/or Confidential Business Information about you or your company. We will obtain this information from applications or other forms you complete, your transactions with us, correspondence between you and Transparent 401K and, in some cases, third parties with whom we jointly market financial products and services.
We collect and record information about usage of our websites to better serve our users and enhance the products and services we provide. When you request information about Transparent 401K services, we will use your information to provide you with the requested Transparent 401k materials, to follow-up with you from time to time via email, mail or telephone, and to provide you with additional information describing and promoting the Transparent 401k. Any email we send to you promoting our services will contain clear instructions for opting out of future communications offering Transparent 401K services. Additionally, Transparent 401K may use your information to better understand how the Transparent 401k services are being used and to enhance the provision of such services.
If you are a new customer we may begin sharing your information on the day you sign our agreement. When you are no longer our customer, we may continue to share your information as described in this notice. However, you can contact us at any time to limit our sharing.
With Whom Do We Share Information?
Transparent 401K will not give, sell or rent your information to any non-affiliated third party to use for purpose of marketing the third party’s goods or services. Transparent 401K may share your information with third parties that serve as Third-Party Administrators for our Transparent 401k or other retirement plan services and other third parties that perform services for us, such as outside vendors who provide online marketing services or who assist us in sending communications.
We also may share your information with third parties to operate or manage our business, or as permitted by law (such as when required legal process or in connection with the sale of our assets). All such third parties are prohibited from using, selling, or renting such information for their own purposes or benefit and are required to protect such information from unauthorized use and disclosure. Information collected by the Third-Party Administrator managing your 401(k) plan is governed by its privacy policy, as posted on its website.
How Does Transparent 401K Use Cookies on our website?

Our cookies do not collect or contain personal information about you or compromise the confidentiality of your personal information.Our system automatically gathers information about the areas you visit on our sites and about the links you may select from within our site to other areas of the Internet.

We use this data to continually improve our websites and the services we offer, and also to help us deliver the most relevant products and services to our customers.

Transparent 401K takes the security of information very seriously and has established security standards and procedures to prevent unauthorized access to customer information. We use industry standard means such as physical, electronic and procedure safeguards, including data encryption and secure socket layer technology. We update and test our technology regularly to maintain and improve the protection of our customers’ information. We restrict access to personal information to employees and service providers for legitimate business purposes to assist in providing services to you. Employees who violate our privacy policy are subject to termination.
Miscellaneous
We may make changes, deletions or additions (“Modifications”) to this privacy policy and apply them to information previously collected. You agree that we can send you notice of Modifications to this privacy policy by email to the last address you have provided us.
